Yael Arad (born 1967) is an Israeli judoka from Tel Aviv who became the first Israeli to win an Olympic medal, taking silver in the women's half middleweight class at the 1992 Barcelona Games, where she lost the final to Catherine Fleury of France. She took up judo at eight, won her first international title in 1984, won European bronze in 1989 and 1991, and European gold in 1993, and was world silver medallist in 1993. She finished fifth at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics while ill. After competing she coached, worked in business as a chief executive, and in 2023 became a member of the International Olympic Committee.
