Willem Gerard "Willi" Lippens, born 10 November 1945, is a former football player nicknamed "Ente", German for duck, because of his waddling gait. He was born in Germany near the German-Dutch border to a Dutch father and a German mother, and he represented the Netherlands national team. He spent most of his career with German clubs, playing for Rot-Weiss Essen from 1965 to 1976 and again in 1980 to 1981, for Borussia Dortmund from 1976 to 1979, and for one season with the Dallas Tornado in the North American Soccer League. In 242 Bundesliga matches he scored 92 goals, making him the player who appeared most often for Rot-Weiss at that level and their top scorer there. He was known for imaginative footwork and an irreverent good humour that made him a fan favourite.
