Waqar Younis is a Pakistani cricketer turned coach and commentator, born on 16 November 1971, who captained the Pakistan national team and is widely regarded as one of the greatest bowlers of all time. A right-arm fast bowler whose trademark was reverse swing at high speed, he played 87 Tests and 262 One Day Internationals between 1989 and 2003, taking 373 Test wickets and 416 ODI wickets. He formed one of the most feared bowling attacks in the game alongside Wasim Akram, became the youngest Pakistani Test captain at 22 years and 15 days, and was part of the squad that finished runners-up at the 1999 Cricket World Cup. He later served as Pakistan's bowling coach and head coach.
