Viswanathan Anand is an Indian chess grandmaster who is a four time undisputed World Chess Champion, holding the title from 2007 to 2013, and also won the FIDE World Chess Championship from 2000 to 2002. He is a thirteen time World Rapid Chess Champion, became India's first grandmaster in 1988, reached a peak FIDE rating of 2817 in 2011, and was the first sportsperson to receive India's Padma Vibhushan honor, in 2007.
