Vinod Ganpat Kambli, born on 18 January 1972, is an Indian former international cricketer who played for India as a left-handed middle order batsman, and also for Mumbai and for Boland in South Africa. He became the first cricketer to score a century in a One-day International on his birthday, and he was part of the Indian squad that finished as runners-up at the 2000 ICC Champions Trophy. He holds the highest career batting average of any Indian Test cricketer, 54, yet he played his last Test at the age of 23 and was afterwards considered only for One Day Internationals, the last of which came when he was 28. After playing he worked as a television cricket commentator and expert, took part in reality shows, and acted in a few serials and films, and he serves on the Cricket Improvement Committee of the Mumbai Cricket Association.
