Valentina Vezzali is an Italian former foil fencer widely regarded as one of the greatest fencers in history. She won six Olympic gold medals across five Games from 1996 to 2012, along with numerous world championship titles, dominating women's individual foil for over a decade. After retiring from competition she served as a member of the Italian parliament and as an undersecretary for sport.
