Thomas Müller, born on 13 September 1989, is a German professional footballer who plays as a forward or attacking midfielder and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of his generation. Nicknamed der Raumdeuter, the interpreter of space, he has been praised for his positioning, finishing, work rate and consistency in scoring and creating goals. A product of the Bayern Munich youth system, which he joined at ten, he played for the club until 2025 and won a record thirteen Bundesliga titles, six DFB-Pokals and two UEFA Champions League titles, and is the club's record appearance holder with 756 matches. He is the all-time German top goalscorer and assist provider in the UEFA Champions League. Called up to the Germany national team in 2010, he won the Golden Boot and Best Young Player award at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, helped Germany win the 2014 World Cup with the Silver Ball, and retired from international football after UEFA Euro 2024.
