Thaddeus Young, born Thaddeus Charles Young Sr. on 21 June 1988, is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets before the Philadelphia 76ers selected him twelfth overall in the 2007 NBA draft. His professional career was spent in the National Basketball Association, where his all-round production stood out: in 2018 he became the fifth player in NBA history with at least 800 games to average 13.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 49 percent from the field and 30 percent from three-point range, a list that otherwise contains Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and LeBron James. That statistical company is the clearest marker in the source of how consistently he contributed across scoring, rebounding and defence over a long career.
