Steve Mandanda Mpidi, born on 28 March 1985, is a former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. A product of the Le Havre academy, he spent most of his professional career with Marseille, making 614 appearances across all competitions in two spells at the club, and he was voted Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year five times. Between his two spells at Marseille he had a short stint with the English club Crystal Palace. In 2022 he joined Rennes, and he retired three years later. Born in Zaire, which is present-day DR Congo, Mandanda played for the France national team and made his debut in 2008. He represented France at seven international tournaments, four UEFA European Championships in 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020 and three FIFA World Cups in 2010, 2018 and 2022, winning the tournament in 2018.
