Stephen Kiprotich

Stephen Kiprotich is a Ugandan marathon runner, born on 27 February 1989 in Kapchorwa in eastern Uganda, who ran for the Uganda Prisons team. He won the men's marathon at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, and Olympedia records it as his single Olympic medal. He returned to the Games in 2016, finishing fourteenth in the marathon, and again in 2020, when he did not finish the race, so he competed at three Olympic Games in all. He added a second major title the year after his Olympic win, taking gold in the marathon at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow. Olympedia lists him at 172 centimetres tall and about 56 kilograms.
