Simone Collio

Simone Collio is an Italian sprinter, born on 27 December 1979 in Cernusco sul Naviglio in the province of Milan. He stands 180 centimetres tall, weighed 74 kilograms in the Olympic record, and represented the sports group Fiamme Gialle of Rome. Collio competed at three Summer Olympics for Italy: the 2004 Games, where he ran the 100 metres and the 4 x 100 metres relay, the 2008 Games, where he again entered both events, and the 2012 Games, where he ran in the Italian 4 x 100 metres relay team. His recorded personal best in the 100 metres is 10.06 seconds, set in 2009. Beyond the Olympics he won a silver medal in the 4 x 100 metres relay at the 2010 European Athletics Championships in Barcelona, and gold medals in the same relay at the Mediterranean Games of 2009 in Pescara and 2013 in Mersin. He is married to the Bulgarian sprinter Ivet Lalova-Collio.
