Sidney Moncrief

Sidney Moncrief is an American former professional basketball player, born on September 21, 1957. He played college basketball for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks from 1975 to 1979, and in 1978 he helped lead them to the Final Four and to a win over Notre Dame in the NCAA Consolation Game. Nicknamed Sid the Squid, Sir Sid and El Sid, he went on to play eleven seasons in the National Basketball Association, ten of them with the Milwaukee Bucks. He was a five-time NBA All-Star and won the first two NBA Defensive Player of the Year awards, in 1983 and 1984. He was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019.
