Serena Williams is an American tennis player widely regarded as one of the greatest in the sport history. She won twenty three Grand Slam singles titles, the most of any player in the Open Era, and four Olympic gold medals: one in singles at the 2012 London Games, and three in doubles partnered with her sister Venus Williams at the 2000 Sydney, 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Games. She announced her retirement from professional competition in 2022.
