Sébastien Squillaci

Sébastien Squillaci, born on 11 August 1980, is a French former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. He began in his home commune of La Seyne-sur-Mer with Seynois, joined Toulon in 1996 and made his professional debut in 1997-98, then moved to Monaco, where he won the Coupe de la Ligue in 2003 and played in the side that reached the 2004 UEFA Champions League Final. He was named to the Ligue 1 Team of the Year that season, later won two league titles and the Coupe de France with Lyon, won the Copa del Rey with Sevilla, and in 2010 signed for Arsenal, reaching the 2011 Football League Cup final. He earned 21 caps for France between 2004 and 2010, including UEFA Euro 2008 and the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
