Sean Kelly is an Irish former road cyclist born May 24, 1956, in Waterford, who raced professionally from 1977 to 1994. He won nine Monument classics, including Paris-Roubaix in 1984 and 1986 and Milan-San Remo in 1986 and 1992, the 1988 Vuelta a Espana, four Tour de France green jerseys, and Paris-Nice a record seven consecutive years. He was ranked the world's number one cyclist for five consecutive years beginning in March 1984, when the FICP rankings were established.
