Sandy Koufax is an American former professional baseball pitcher who starred for the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers. Over a relatively short but dominant career in the 1960s, he led the league in earned run average multiple times, threw a perfect game, and won several Cy Young Awards before retiring early because of an arm injury.
