Roger Milla

Roger Milla, born Albert Roger Miller on May 20, 1952, in Yaounde, Cameroon, is a former professional footballer whom FIFA has described as one of the first global stars to emerge from Africa. He represented Cameroon at three FIFA World Cups, and at the 1990 tournament, at age 38, he scored four goals and helped Cameroon become the first African nation to reach a World Cup quarterfinal; four years later, at age 42, he broke his own record by scoring against Russia to become the oldest goalscorer in World Cup history. He won the Africa Cup of Nations twice, in 1984 and 1988, was named to FIFA's 100 list of great living players in 2004, and in 2007 the Confederation of African Football recognized him as the best African player of the previous fifty years.
