Rocco Francis Marchegiano, known as Rocky Marciano, was an American professional boxer who lived from 1923 to 1969 and held the world heavyweight championship from 1952 to 1956. He retired with a professional record of 49 wins and no losses, 43 of them by knockout, and remains the only heavyweight champion in history to finish a career undefeated. He is also the only fighter to have stopped every opponent he faced in a world heavyweight title bout, finishing his championship fights with an 85.71 percent knockout rate.
