Ri Kwang-chon, born on 4 September 1985, is a North Korean former footballer who played as a centre-back. At club level he played for April 25 in the North Korean league and helped the club win league titles. A move to the Chinese side Tianjin Teda in 2012 fell through over problems obtaining a work permit, so he joined Muangthong United in Thailand instead, and after a spell back at April 25 he finished his career with Pattaya United in Thailand, retiring in 2015. He played for the North Korean national team between 2001 and 2012, and represented the country at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2011 AFC Asian Cup. His whereabouts were largely unknown after he retired, as with many North Korean footballers, until March 2025, when the state-run sports ministry website revealed that he was working as head coach of the men's team of Ryomyong SC, the champions of the DPRK Premier League.
