Peter Morris is a baseball historian born in Birmingham, England in 1962 who later became an American citizen. He won the United States National Scrabble Championship in 1989 and then became the first winner of the World Scrabble Championship, held in London in 1991, after which he largely stepped back from competitive play to focus on baseball research. He has written nine books on baseball history, including the two volume A Game of Inches, the first book ever to win both the Seymour Medal and the Casey Award, and in 2010 he received the Society for American Baseball Research's inaugural Henry Chadwick Award.
