Penelope Jane Taylor, born on 24 May 1981, is an Australian former professional basketball player and assistant coach. Over a 19-year career she spent the most time with the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA, where she won three championships. She also won the Women's National Basketball League title with her first club, the Australian Institute of Sport, and played professionally in China, Italy, Turkey and Russia. As a member of the Australian women's national team, the Opals, she won two Olympic medals and led the team to a gold medal at the World Championships, where she was named the tournament's most valuable player ahead of her teammate Lauren Jackson.
