Pavel Bure is a Russian ice hockey right wing born March 31, 1971, in Moscow, nicknamed the Russian Rocket for his speed. He played professionally from 1987 to 2003, beginning with CSKA Moscow before twelve NHL seasons with the Vancouver Canucks, Florida Panthers and New York Rangers, winning the Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year in 1992 and two consecutive Rocket Richard Trophies as the league's leading goal scorer in 2000 and 2001. He scored 437 goals in 702 NHL games, led the Canucks to the 1994 Stanley Cup Final, won Olympic silver with Russia in 1998 and bronze in 2002, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and IIHF Hall of Fame in 2012.
