Pat Coyle is a retired lacrosse player, born on 17 September 1969 in Orangeville, Ontario, who spent his National Lacrosse League career with the Detroit Turbos, the Ontario Raiders, the Toronto Rock and the Colorado Mammoth. In 1994 he played with the Detroit Turbos of the MILL but was suspended indefinitely for striking a referee; the suspension was held not to apply when the MILL became the NLL in 1998 and the Ontario Raiders signed him. He won four championships with the Rock and a fifth with the Colorado Mammoth in 2006, and in 2002 he captured the league's first Defensive Player of the Year honor. He announced his retirement during the 2008 season, was inducted into the NLL Hall of Fame in 2014, the first defenseman so honored, and into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2017, and has coached the Mammoth.
