Orel Hershiser is an American former professional baseball pitcher who starred for the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 1988 he set a major league record for consecutive scoreless innings pitched and led the Dodgers to a World Series title, earning both the National League Cy Young Award and World Series Most Valuable Player honors that year.
