Nicklas Lidstrom is a Swedish ice hockey defenceman born April 28, 1970, in Krylbo, Sweden, who played twenty NHL seasons, from 1991 to 2012, entirely for the Detroit Red Wings. He won four Stanley Cup championships, in 1997, 1998, 2002 and 2008, a record seven James Norris Memorial Trophies as the league's top defenceman, and the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoffs MVP in 2002, and he became the first European-born-and-trained captain of a Stanley Cup-winning team. Nicknamed the Perfect Human, he also won Olympic gold with Sweden in 2006, joining hockey's Triple Gold Club, played 1,564 regular-season games all with Detroit, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015.
