Mustafa Dağıstanlı

Mustafa Dağıstanlı was a Turkish wrestler, born on 11 April 1931 and died on 18 September 2022. His best achievements came in freestyle wrestling, where he won gold medals at the 1956 and 1960 Olympic Games and at the world championships of 1954, 1957 and 1959. In Greco-Roman wrestling he won a gold medal at the 1955 Mediterranean Games. He is credited with 389 wins and 4 draws in 393 matches, a record that shows how long and how consistently he competed at the top level of the sport across the 1950s and early 1960s.
