Mohamed Ehab is an Egyptian Olympic weightlifter born November 21, 1989, in Faiyum, Egypt, who has competed in the 69, 77 and 81 kilogram categories over his career. He won a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics in the men's 77 kilogram category, later upgraded to silver in 2022 after the original gold medalist was disqualified, and he won World Championship silver medals in 2014, 2015 and 2018 plus a World Championship gold medal in 2017 in Anaheim, Egypt's first overall world championship gold in the sport since 1951. He set world records in the snatch, 173 kilograms, and total, 373 kilograms, both in 2018, and also won gold medals at the 2019 African Games, the 2018 Mediterranean Games and the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games. A 2024 retest of his 2016 Olympic sample reportedly returned a positive result for a banned substance, with the case still unresolved as of 2025.
