Mijain Lopez

Mijain Lopez is a Cuban retired Greco-Roman wrestler born August 20, 1982, widely considered one of the greatest wrestlers in the sport's history. He won Olympic gold in his weight class at five consecutive Games, in 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020 and 2024, becoming the first and only athlete in modern Olympic history to win five consecutive gold medals in the same individual event, and he also won five World Championship titles. Across Olympic and World Championship competition he collected ten gold medals at the world level, second only to Aleksandr Karelin's twelve, and he carried the Cuban flag at four consecutive Olympic opening ceremonies.
