Mick Cowan, formally Michael Cowan, was an Irish hurler who lived from 1948 until his death on 10 May 2010 and played as a left wing-forward for the Tipperary senior team. Regarded as one of Tipperary's most versatile players ever, he joined the team during the 1969 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1977 championship. His career coincided with a sharp downturn in the fortunes of the team, and he ended his playing days without any success. At club level he was a one-time All-Ireland medallist with Borris-Ileigh, after beginning his career with Moyne-Templetuohy, and he also won four county club championship medals.
