Michael Walsh is an Irish retired hurler, born in 1961, who played as a goalkeeper for Kilkenny and for the Dicksboro club, with whom he won the county senior championship in 1993. He is the son of Ollie Walsh, regarded as one of the greatest hurling goalkeepers, and became first-choice goalkeeper when his father managed the team in 1990 and 1991. Walsh won two All-Ireland medals, in 1992 and 1993, three Leinster medals, a National League medal in 1995 and two All-Stars, and he retired after the 1996 championship. He also played soccer for Kilkenny City and captained the Republic of Ireland at youth level. Afterwards he managed Carlow and worked as a radio analyst.
