Michael Collins, known as Mick, was an Irish hurler who lived from 1940 until his death on 13 June 2009 and played as a full-back with the Wexford senior team. Born in Enniscorthy, County Wexford, he was introduced to hurling in his youth and enjoyed championship successes with the Enniscorthy Shamrocks club, winning two senior championship medals, in 1964 and 1969. With Wexford he won the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship in 1970 as captain. He is identified here as the Enniscorthy Shamrocks full-back born in 1940 to tell him apart from other people of the same name.
