Metta Sandiford-Artest

Metta Sandiford-Artest, formerly known as Ronald William Artest and for a period as Metta World Peace, is an American professional basketball player born on November 13, 1979, in Queensbridge, New York. A 6 foot 7 inch, 260 pound right-handed small forward, he attended La Salle Academy in New York and then St. John's before the Chicago Bulls drafted him in the first round, 16th overall, in the 1999 NBA Draft. He made his NBA debut on November 3, 1999, and played 17 seasons, last appearing in 2017, for the Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks. His honors recorded on the page include one All-Star selection, the 2003-04 Defensive Player of the Year award, a 2003-04 All-NBA selection, four All-Defensive selections, a place on the 1999-00 All-Rookie team and the 2010 NBA championship.
