Matthew Ruth is an Irish hurler, born in February 1987, who currently plays as a substitute centre-forward for the Kilkenny senior team. He made his first appearance for Kilkenny during the 2011 National League, although he remained a substitute for the subsequent championship, and since then he has won an All-Ireland medal as a non-playing substitute and Leinster and National League medals on the field of play. At club level he is a Leinster medallist with the James Stephens club. His father, Matt Ruth, played hurling for Limerick and Kilkenny and won two All-Ireland medals.
