Martin Coleman is an Irish hurler and selector, born in August 1950, who was the goalkeeper of Cork's three-in-a-row team of the 1970s. He began at club level with Ballinhassig, joined the Cork minor team as a sixteen-year-old in 1967 and won an All-Ireland Minor Championship in his first year. After two successive All-Ireland Under-21 titles he was promoted to the senior team in 1970, eventually succeeding Paddy Barry as Cork's first-choice goalkeeper. He made 19 championship appearances in a career that ended with his last game in 1980, and in that time was part of four All-Ireland Championship-winning teams, in 1970, 1976, 1977 and 1978, and won six Munster Championship medals and three National Hurling League medals. After his playing career he became an inter-county selector and was part of the senior management team that guided Cork to the 1990 All-Ireland Championship.
