Marshall Ulrich is an American ultramarathon runner and mountaineer who has completed 124 ultramarathons, averaging over 100 miles each, has climbed the tallest summit on each continent, all on first attempts, and has finished 12 expedition-length adventure races. He is most famous for the Badwater Ultramarathon across Death Valley, which he has finished 18 times, including a 586-mile Badwater Quad and a solo, unaided run in which he pulled more than 200 pounds of supplies in a cart. He won the 146-mile race to the summit of Mount Whitney four times and still holds the record to the summit. In summer 2012 he and Dave Heckman made the first trek around the perimeter of Death Valley National Park, about 425 miles in 16.5 days, and in fall 2008 he ran 3,063.2 miles from San Francisco to New York in 52.5 days. He has raised over $850,000 for charities.
