Markus Rehm is a German Paralympic athlete who competes in the long jump. He was born on 22 August 1988 in Göppingen, West Germany, and took up sport at the age of twenty. He became F44 long jump world champion in 2011 and has since won four Paralympic, six world and five European titles. His club is TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen, and he is also a medical specialist by profession. Rehm is nicknamed The Blade Jumper because he jumps off a carbon-fibre bladed prosthesis; his right leg was amputated below the knee after a wakeboarding accident. He holds the long jump world record in his category at 8.72 metres, set in Rhede, Germany in June 2023, which broke his own previous mark of 8.62 metres from the 2021 World Para Athletics European Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
