Marc Gasol

Marc Gasol Saez, born on 29 January 1985, is a Spanish former professional basketball player who is now president of Basquet Girona in the Liga ACB. A center, he is a two-time All-NBA Team member and a three-time NBA All-Star. He was drafted 48th overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2007 NBA draft, and in February 2008 his rights were traded to Memphis in the deal that sent his older brother Pau Gasol to the Lakers. He then signed with the Memphis Grizzlies, was named NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2013, and stayed with the franchise until a 2019 trade to Toronto, where he won an NBA championship with the Raptors. He rejoined the Lakers for one season in 2020. For the Spain national team, of which he has been a regular member since 2006, he won two Olympic silver medals, two FIBA Basketball World Cup titles and two EuroBasket titles.
