Football Codes

Manuel Neuer, born on 27 March 1986, is a German professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper and captains the Bundesliga club Bayern Munich. He began his career at Schalke 04, where he won the DFB-Pokal and the DFL-Ligapokal and became club captain in 2010, before signing for Bayern Munich in 2011. At Bayern he has won 32 trophies, including a record thirteen Bundesliga titles and two UEFA Champions League titles, in 2013 and 2020, each as part of a treble. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time and is known as a sweeper-keeper because he rushes off his line and often plays outside the penalty area. The International Federation of Football History and Statistics named him the best goalkeeper of the decade from 2011 to 2020. For Germany he won the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the Golden Glove award, captained the national side from 2017 to 2023, and holds the record for goalkeeper appearances at the World Cup.
