Luther Blissett was born on 1 February 1958 in Jamaica and is a former professional footballer and manager who played for the England national football team in the 1980s. A forward, he is best known for his time at Watford, whom he helped win promotion from the Fourth Division to the First Division, and for whom he set club records with 503 appearances and 186 goals. He was the top goalscorer of the 1982-83 First Division as Watford finished second. He was one of the first black players to represent England, earning 14 caps and scoring a hat-trick on his debut against Luxembourg. His other clubs included Milan, Bournemouth, West Bromwich Albion and Bury. After retiring he coached at Watford and managed Chesham United, and in 2007 he founded the racing team Team 48 Motorsport.
