Lilí Álvarez, born Elia Maria González-Álvarez y López-Chicheri and also known as Lilí de Álvarez, lived from 9 May 1905 to 8 July 1998. She was a Spanish multi-sport competitor and an international tennis champion. Beyond sport she was an author, a feminist and a journalist, so her public life reached well past the court.
