Lawrence Robert Morgan (1915 to 1997) was an Australian sportsman who is the only person to play VFL/AFL football and win an Olympic gold medal. He played Australian rules football with Fitzroy during the late 1930s, joining the club in 1937 and playing in the same side as Haydn Bunton, then spent two further seasons there under coach Gordon Rattray before leaving. He returned to the sporting scene in 1960 at the age of 45, riding Salad Days to win the individual three day event at the Rome Olympics, the first Australian equestrian gold medal, and then won gold in the team event with Neale Lavis and Bill Roycroft. He was the only dual gold medallist in the Australian Olympic team that year.
