Kurt Roland Hamrin, known as Kurre, was a Swedish professional footballer who played as a winger. He was born on 19 November 1934 and died on 4 February 2024. He began his career in Sweden with AIK and then moved to Italy, where he played for several clubs and became most closely associated with Fiorentina. In nine years there he won two Coppa Italia titles, a Cup Winners Cup and a Mitropa Cup, made more than 350 appearances and scored more than 200 goals in all competitions. He also played for AC Milan, winning a Serie A title and the European Cup. A prolific goalscorer, he is the eighth highest scorer in the history of Serie A with 190 goals. At international level he was a member of the Sweden team that reached the final of the 1958 FIFA World Cup on home soil, and he is commonly regarded as one of the greatest Swedish footballers of all time.
