Kristina Vogel is a German track cycling sprinter born November 10, 1990, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, who won Olympic gold in the team sprint at the 2012 London Games and in the individual sprint at the 2016 Rio Games, and who became an eleven time UCI World Champion across the sprint, keirin and team sprint events. In June 2018 she was paralyzed after a training collision with a junior cyclist at the Cottbus velodrome severed her spinal cord, ending her competitive career.
