Alexander Koji Murofushi, born on 8 October 1974, is a Japanese former hammer thrower and sports scientist. He has been among the world elite in the hammer throw since the 2001 World Championships, where he won the silver medal, and he went on to become the 2004 Olympic champion in the event. In 2011 he was crowned world champion.
