Kim Woo-jin

Kim Woo-jin is a South Korean recurve archer born June 20, 1992, in Okcheon County, North Chungcheong Province, who first reached the world number one ranking in 2011. He has won five Olympic gold medals, at the 2016 Rio, 2020 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Games, taking individual, team and mixed team gold at Paris 2024 alone, more Olympic golds than any other archer in history and more than any Korean Olympian in any sport. He is also a three time world champion in the men's individual recurve event, winning titles in 2011, 2015 and 2021, and at the 2016 Rio Games he set a world record qualifying score of 700 out of 720 despite losing in the second round of the elimination bracket.
