Kílian Jornet

Kílian Jornet Burgada is a Spanish professional long-distance trail runner and ski mountaineer. He has won some of the most prestigious ultramarathons in the world, including the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc on multiple occasions, the Grand Raid, the Western States endurance run and the Hardrock. Beyond race victories, Jornet is known for speed records in the mountains. He holds the fastest known time for the ascent and descent of the Matterhorn by the Lion ridge and the speed record for Mont Blanc on foot. He also holds the 24-hour uphill skiing record of 23,864 metres, or 78,274 feet. His career combines mountain running in summer with ski mountaineering in winter, and it is placed here with track and field disciplines as the closest running grouping in this atlas.
