Keshorn Walcott

Keshorn Walcott, known as Keshie, was born on 2 April 1993 and is a Trinidadian track and field athlete who competes in the javelin throw. He won the Olympic title in 2012 and the World Championships title in 2025. He is the first Caribbean male athlete, and the first of African descent, to win a gold medal in a throwing event in the history of the Olympics, and he holds the North, Central American and Caribbean junior record. At 19 years 131 days he is the youngest Olympic gold medallist in the men's javelin, and he was the first athlete in any track and field event to win World Junior and Olympic titles in an individual event in the same year. At 32 years 169 days he is the second-oldest gold medallist in the men's javelin at the World Championships.
