Kenneth Moore (1910 to 1981) was a Canadian ice hockey player who competed in the 1932 Winter Olympics and won gold, becoming the first First Nations athlete to win an Olympic gold medal at the Winter Olympics. Born in Balcarres, Saskatchewan, he was a citizen of the Peepeekisis Cree Nation, and his family moved to Regina to keep their younger children out of residential school. He played hockey, baseball, lacrosse, rugby, basketball, speed skating and cycling, though he loved hockey most. With the Regina Pats he won the Canadian junior championship in 1930, scoring the game winning goal in the Memorial Cup with forty seconds left. He then joined the Winnipeg Hockey Club, which won the national Allan Cup and was chosen to represent Canada at the 1932 Olympics, where he played one game and scored a goal against Poland. He later won a second Allan Cup with the Kimberley Dynamiters in 1936, and after retiring he coached junior hockey in Manitoba and volunteered in minor hockey.
