Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, nicknamed Kalle and born on 25 September 1955, is a German football executive and former professional footballer, widely regarded as one of the greatest German players of all time. As a player he achieved great success with Bayern Munich, winning the Intercontinental Cup, two European Cups, two league titles and two domestic cups. He won the Ballon d'Or twice, in 1980 and 1981, and in 2004 Pelé named him in the FIFA 100 list of the greatest living players. With the West Germany national team he won the 1980 European Championship and captained the sides that finished runner-up at the 1982 and 1986 World Cups. After his playing career he became Chairman of the Executive Board of FC Bayern München AG, served as chairman of the European Club Association from 2008 to 2017, and represented that body on the UEFA Executive Committee from 2021 to 2024.
