Karel Nováček is a retired Czech tennis player who reached the top ten of the world rankings. He was born on 30 March 1965 in Prostějov, in what was then Czechoslovakia. During his career he won 13 singles titles and six doubles titles, and his highest singles ranking was World No. 8, reached on 18 November 1991. His best result at a Grand Slam tournament came at the 1994 US Open, where he beat Alexander Volkov, Andriy Medvedev, Todd Woodbridge, Javier Frana and Jaime Yzaga before losing in the semifinal to Michael Stich.
